Sonic Patience

When someone says the Grateful Dead are boring, it shows to me that they might not know how to listen to music. I don’t think it’s a taste thing. I think people have sonic attention spans, and most people are conditioned to specific patterns in pacing (ie: verse/chorus). A good band will expand your conception of what music can be, and they demand your full attention.
