Media Paradigm Risks

There's a cartoon argument that a network news station is controlled by donors and spews propaganda to brainwash the public; alternatively, the information you found online is free, bottom-up, more democratic, slant-free—"free media." I think the opposite might be true. Social media is more dangerous and dehumanizing than mainstream media. It's easier to believe that the source is free of gatekeepers, because the source looks like you, not an professional news anchor.
